BLESSING OF THROATS
Wednesday, February 3rd is the Feast of St. Blaise. For centuries, it has been a tradition of Catholics to have their throats blessed on this Feast. It is a lovely practice, remembering St. Blaise who interceded with God to heal a boy with a fish bone stuck in his throat. We pray through the intercession of St. Blaise that God deliver us from every disease of the throat and from every other illness.
Since many parishioners cannot come to Church on Wednesday, we offer the blessing of throats after all the Sunday Masses this weekend.
